I’m trying to preview a new Instagram DM that just popped up on my phone, but I don’t want the sender to see that I’ve read it yet. I’ve tried turning off read receipts and using airplane mode, but the message still seems to mark as seen when I tap on it. Is there any trick to peek at the text or notification preview without actually opening the chat?
No reliable way to see the full message without marking as read. Notification previews or third-party apps can sometimes help but are not guaranteed.
