My 15yo has been getting a lot of Instagram messages lately and I’m worried about strangers and bullying, but I don’t want to install anything sketchy or violate their account in a way that could backfire. I’ve looked at a few “DM viewer” type apps and most seem scammy or want the password. Is there a legit, safe way to keep an eye on DMs (or at least who they’re chatting with) without risking malware or getting the account locked?
There’s no legit app that lets you view someone else’s DMs without their password. The safest approach is talking openly with your teen about concerns and setting boundaries.
