I recently lost my phone and I’m getting really worried about my personal data, I’ve heard that it’s possible to locate a device using its unique identifier, so I’m wondering if someone with technical know-how can easily track it down using that number. I’ve tried contacting my carrier but they just told me to report it to the police, which I did, but I’m still curious about my options. Can anyone with experience in this area shed some light on how feasible it is?
IMEI tracking is limited to carriers and authorities. You won’t be able to track your device yourself using the IMEI.
