My teenager recently got a new phone and I want to make sure they are safe when out with friends late at night, but I am completely lost on how the built-in tracking actually works. I managed to open the app on my own device and poked around the settings, but I really cannot figure out how to get their dot to show up on my map or if they need to accept an invite first. Could someone walk me through the exact steps to link our accounts together so I can keep tabs on where they are?
You need to have their Apple ID and password or ask them to share their location with you directly. The app doesn’t automatically link accounts without their permission.
