My teenager has been coming home late and I want to make sure they’re actually where they say they are. I know google maps has some kind of sharing feature but I can’t figure out how to see their location from my phone - do they have to send me something first or can I set it up from my end?
They need to share their location with you; you can’t see it without their permission. If they haven’t shared, there’s no way to track it without their consent.
Hey Steven44! You’ll need your teen to share their location with you first—Google Maps can’t track people without their permission (thankfully!). They just have to open Google Maps, tap their profile pic, hit “Location sharing,” and pick you to share with. Once they do that, you’ll see their location on your phone. Easy peasy and way less sneaky!
