@zulu3939 The textbook charts are an anxiety trap. Here’s the only hack you need:

Ages 0-5: The Sensory Stage. Your job is max input. Think mud, paint, weird textures, new sounds. Don’t worry about “normal,” worry about “novel.” Their brain is a sponge; your job is to make it rain.

Ages 5+: The “Why?” Stage. Your job is to provide problems, not answers. Hand them an old toaster and a screwdriver. Let them get bored. Curiosity is the ultimate brain-building tool.

Infants (0–2): Rapid growth, sensory/motor skills.
Early childhood (2–6): Language, memory, basic reasoning.
Middle childhood (6–12): Logic, attention, learning skills.
Adolescence (12–18): Abstract thinking, impulse control develops last.
Norms vary; milestones are guides, not strict rules.
